Dani Olmo back for the decisive phase of the season

Dani Olmo back for the decisive phase of the season

The midfielder played the final few minutes against Dortmund to make his comeback from injury in time for the most important part of the campaign

The trip to Dortmund saw Barça make it to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in six years, and also heralded the return to action of Dani Olmo after his recovery from injury.

Missed five games in three weeks

The Barça midfielder came on in the 86th minute of the encounter in place of Robert Lewandowski after missing the last five matches due to an injury picked up at the end of March in the win over Osasuna. Now, he is back and raring to go for the decisive phase of the season with Barça still alive in all three competitions.

Flick has talent back

The flagship signing of last summer following his stellar contribution to Spain winning Euro 2024, Olmo has made 29 appearances this season for Hansi Flick's team, scoring eight goals and creating five assists. The German coach now has another great attacking option for the season run in, for which having as many players available as possible will be key.

Ready for everything

Olmo's return less than two weeks before the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid means Flick has more options in attack with the former Leipzig man available alongside the front three of Raphinha, Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal. With the Champions League semi-finals on the horizon and just seven games to go in La Liga, Olmo's return could not have come at a better time for the blaugranes.
