Raphinha has been having an extraordinary season, supplying goals left, right and centre. The goals weren't coming at the fastest of rates in his first two seasons after joining from Leeds United but under Hansi Flick he can do nothing wrong. Two more goals against Benfica this Tuesday have taken his overall tally to 47, making him the fifth highest scoring Brazilian in club history.
27 this season
In each of his first two seasons in Catalonia he netted ten goals, and he has more than doubled that already this time round with several games still to play. 27 in total, matching him with Ronaldo Nazário.
Leader and goalscorer
But Raphinha is much more than goals. His workrate has been exemplary ever since he arrived at the club, but while he has always been a key component of the attack, actually scoring goals has become a more and more important part of his game. He has followed and expanded the club's long tradition of Brazilian superstars, to the extent that he has even been donning the captain's armband this season.
Further challenges
Having already surpassed the likes of Giovanni and Romàrio, and now tied with Ronaldo, the next targets for Raphinha are the 94 goals scored by Ronaldinho, 105 by both Neymar and Evaristo, and the outright leader with 130, club legend Rivaldo.
