Barça coach Xavi Hernández appeared in the press room at the Parc des Princes "proud" of his team. "The side put in a great performance and we have to be proud. We have shown that Barça are alive against a team designed to win the Champions League," said the Catalan coach before highlighting the "personality, talent and team work" shown by his team away at Paris Saint-Germain.
Nevertheless, the 3-2 win in Paris does not mean the tie over as Xavi pointed out on more than one occasion. "PSG are still favourites and in Barcelona it will be tough. We are half way through and there is nothing decided," added the Barça boss.
On restricting PSG's attacking threat, Xavi said: "We blocked their passing lines and pressured really well, starting with Lewandowski and Gündoğan. It is a great win for Barça fans."
“I am expecting a real pressure cooker atmosphere”
Ahead of the second leg, Xavi said he hoped for a real European night atmosphere. "I am expecting a real pressure cooker," he concluded with the support of the fans key to helping his team through to the semi-finals and cash in on their excellent win in Wednesday in Paris.
