Xavi pleased with 'all-round' performance

Barça posted one of their most convincing displays of the season against Getafe on Saturday, and Xavi Hernández was naturally delighted with what he saw.

"I fully believe in what we're doing" he said after the game. "We're united. The team was back home and playing to their best. It was a convincing all-round performance against a valiant opponent."

"We played well with our defensive line so far forward. We read the spaces well. I'm happy because the team was in such good physical shape" he continued, while bestowing praise on two defenders in particular, Andreas Christensen and Pau Cubarsí, describing the latter as "the best when it comes to getting the ball into play. It's a spectacle watching him play."

"We were clinical today and didn't allow Getafe anything to work with. We are competing better and better, and we're certainly not throwing the towel in as far as the Liga title is concerned. Today was an important step forward, and we need to keep believing right until the end. This has put pressure on Girona and Real Madrid. But all we can really do is keep doing our job, which is to win like we did today."
