Pedri: 'A lot of the time, I play on instinct'

The Barça midfielder takes a look at his career so far in an interview with UEFA

Barça midfielder Pedri shows his more personal side in a feature recorded in his native Tenerife for UEFA's official media. The teenage sensation remembers his early experiences of football: "Whenever I had a ball I always tried to play football on the field or against the wall at home, trying to turn as quickly as possible." Pedri jokes, "One day I worked at my parents' bar and I realised it was very tough."

"A lot of the time I play on instinct," reveals Pedri. The midfielder remembers his first goal in the Champions League, scored against Turkish side Galatasaray: "It's a really nice memory - I knew there were two players on the goal line. I don't always dare to shoot but this time I knew I would."

A look back in time that shows the humble beginnings and the hard work and drive from Pedri and his family have put in since his days at local club UD Tequeste.
