Pedri still has 'room to improve'

The Canary Islanders speaks to the press about the latest goings-on at the club

"I try to work day to day and enjoy my football" says Pedri in an interview published in today's Sport in which he discusses a number of matters related to himself and the rest of the team.

"We have the team for everything" he claims. "I like the way we play football and it's the kind that win trophies."

He mentions such names as Lewandowski, Raphinha, Kessie, Dembélé, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. Players he admires and who he knows will achieve big things.

In another interview, this time with Rac1, he says "Lewandowski is utterly crazy. He's an incredible player. He can make something out of anything. He is top quality and scores in every game. But he's also very experienced and has a lot of advice for the younger players. He's won everything but he's very down-to-earth and likes explaining things."

'Work' is a word Pedri mentions a lot. On Ansu, he says "working as hard as he does he's going to turn into a real superstar." And on himself, he says "I'm working hard on fitness and also my goalscoring." The latter is an area where he is especially looking to improved. His only goal so far this season was against Valladolid at Spotify Camp Nou, and he says his celebration (making glasses around his eyes with his hands) "was dedicated to my father, because it's him who got me into football."

In short, there is much excitement surrounding Pedri at the early stages of this season. "We are going to try to win trophies" is his promise to the fans. Let's hope he's right!
