Raphinha makes Champions League debut

Brazilian plays first ever game in Europe's premier club competition

Barça certainly impressed in Munich but were sadly unable to take anything out of the game. But it was still a very special night for Raphinha who finally got to play his first Champions League game after being rested against Viktoria Plzen. He started the game in Bavaria, and had one particularly fine chance to score on a night when the ball just didn't seem to want to go in for anybody.

Raphinha has been one of the standout players in the opening games of the season. He scored a decisive goal against Sevilla and is constant threat down the right, especially with huis mid-range shots.

First start for Marcos Alonso

It was also a special night for Marcos Alonso, who started his first game since signing for FC Barcelona. He excelled in his duties, and containing the likes of Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller is no easy task.

He had made his official debut a few days earlier in Cádiz, but only came on for the last few minutes.
