Pedri stamps No.8 shirt at Barça Store Canaletas

Pedri visited the emblematic Barça Store Canaletes on Friday to get his first look at what will be his new shirt in the 2022/23 season. To celebrate his inheritance of Dani Alves’ number 8 jersey, the midfielder also signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.

The Canary Islander got to stamp his name and number onto the shirt honouring the 30^th anniversary of the Barcelona 1992 Olympics and the new light that shone on the city with the creation of new spaces and the opening up to the sea. It is available for purchase from the Barça Stores at Camp Nou, Passeig de Gràcia, La Roca Village, both terminals at Barcelona airport and the club’s e-commerce channels, as well as all other regular outlets.

The number 8 shirt is particularly associated to the great Andrés Iniesta. Indeed, Pedri admitted that “I have dreamed of wearing the number 8 shirt since I was a kid.”

He also said he wanted to “thank the fans for their warm reception since I joined the club in August 2020. I hope the season to come will be a great year. We are building a great team and the signings we make will bring a lot of freshness.”
