Luis Enrique names five from FC Barcelona in Spain squad
Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Gavi and Ansu Fati are picked for November's crunch games against Greece and Sweden
Luis Enrique has called on no fewer than five FC Barcelona players for the upcoming fixtures against Greece and Sweden, which are decisive encounters in the quest for places at the 2022 World Cup. Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Gavi and Ansu Fati have all been selected, the latter for the first time since his return from injury.
Gavi returns after becoming the youngest player ever to debut for Spain in the defeat of Italy in the semi-finales of the UEFA Nations League.
Three other Barça players have been confirmed as involved in the forthcoming internationals, namely Philippe Coutinho (Brazil), Ronald Araujo (Uruguay), Marc Ter Stegen (Germany), Nico González (Spain U21), Frenkie de Jong & Memphis Depay (Holland) and Clement Lenglet (France), the latter as a replacement for Kimpembe in Didier Deschamps’ squad.
