Preview | FC Barcelona v Girona

New test for Ronald Koeman's team. Girona FC are Barça's second opponents of preseason as the squad continue their preparations for the 2021/22 season. Wednesday saw a 4-0 win in their opening game against Nàstic at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the venue again for Saturday's game. 

The game against Girona is the last fixture before the squad head off to Germany for the next phase of preseason training. The game at the Estadi Johan Cruyff can been seen live on Barça TV+, just like the rest of preseason.

Precedent from last season 

Just as Barça repeated the fixture from last year in preseason against Nàstic, they do the same against Girona. In preseason 2020 the blaugranes ran out 3-1 winners over their Catalan opponents with goals from Coutiniho and two from Leo Messi. 

New kit

After wearing the new home kit for the first time against Nàstic, the blaugranes will debut their second kit on Saturday for 2021/22 against Girona.
