Preseason under way

The first team squad have started the 2021/22 preseason with Saturday seeing Ronald Koeman's team return to the Ciutat Esportiva for the first time since the end of last season for PCR and serology tests. On Sunday they will be back for the usual fitness and medical tests. 

The first team players Ter Stegen, Dest, Piqué, Pjanić, O. Dembélé, Riqui Puig, Neto, Coutinho, S. Roberto, Ansu Fati, Umtiti and Wague were all present along with  Ilias, Gavi, Comas, Ramos Mingo, Nico, Arnau Tenas, Álex Collado, Iñaki Peña and Yusuf Demir from Barça B, the latter having been signed on loan from Rapid Vienna on Friday. 

First training session on Friday

Once the medical and fitness tests have taken place then on Monday 12 July the first training session of preseason will take place at the Ciutat Esportiva. Ter Stegen, O. Dembélé, Coutinho and Ansu Fati's presence in the sessions will depend on their recovery from injury as the squad will train every day of the week except Thursday and Sunday.  

Little by little the players who have been taking part in Euro 2020 and the Copa América will also return to training. 

First friendlies

The first test of preseason will come on Wednesday 21 July against Gimnàstic de Tarragona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (kick off, 7pm CEST). On Saturday 24 July they will then take on Girona also at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (kick off, 7pm CEST).
