How Barça's players fared during the international break

We take a look at the participation of the players with their respective international teams

Now that the first international break of 2021 is over, it's time to review how Barça's players fared in the matches with their respective national teams.

Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Pedri (Spain)

Pedri participated for 27 minutes of the game against Greece (1-1), which was his debut with the national team. In so doing, he became the sixth youngest footballer to debut with the Spanish senior side. Sergio and Jordi Alba didn't play in that game but they did in the second.

The left-back played the full 90 minutes against Georgia and assisted in the two goals in the 1-2 win. As for Sergio he played 73 minutes and Pedri the whole match. In the third game, against Kosovo, Spain won 3-1, with all three players getting time on the pitch. 


Griezmann, Lenglet and Dembélé (France)

Griezmann was a starter in France's win over Ukraine and scored a goal. Lenglet didn't play in that game, but Dembélé returned to play with Les Bleus for the first time since November 2018.

All three played against Kazakhstan, Dembélé scoring one of the two goals in the match, with Griezmann being replaced in the 59th minute and Dembélé in the 90th. Lenglet played the whole match.

In the game against Pjanic's Bosnia and Herzegovina, Griezmann scored again while Lenglet and Dembélé didn't play.

Ter Stegen (Germany)

The Barça goalkeeper didn't play in the matches against Romania and Iceland, but did in the defeat against Macedonia (1-2).

De Jong (Holland)

The midfielder played 90 minutes of the defeat against Turkey (4-2). He also played the whole match against Latvia (2-0) and again in the thrashing of Gibraltar (0-7), in what was his 25th match with the  Dutch national team.

Pjanic - Finlandia

Pjanic (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The midfielder played 90 minutes of his national team's draw against Helsinki (2-2), but didn't participate against Costa Rica. He returned to play 90 minutes against France.

Braithwaite (Denmark)

The Barça striker was a starter and scored a goal in the 2-0 victory against Israel (2-0). He didn't play in the match against Moldova but was on the field for 77 minutes of the thrashing of Austria.

Dest (United States)

Dest scored his first goal with the national team in the friendly against Jamaica. He also started in the United States' friendly against Northern Ireland, where he played 45 minutes of the defeat (1-2). 

Trincão (Portugal U21)

The Portuguese played 64 minutes in the win against Croatia's U21 side. Against England U21, Trincão scored a goal despite not being a starter. Another goal against Switzerland U21 in a 0-3 win brought the curtain down on his successful international break.

Riqui Puig and Mingueza (Spain U21)

Neither played in the match against Slovenia U21, but Mingueza did play in the draw against Italy (0-0). In the Spanish U21 team's win against the Czech Republic Mingueza was suspended, while Riqui played the last eight minutes of that match.

Rei Manaj (Albania)

The Barça B player played 63 minutes in Albania’s victory over Andorra (0-1), as well as 31 minutes in the defeat against England (0-2). In the match against San Marino, he started the game and scored a goal.
