Barça have overcome Porto at the Estadio Jorge Sampaio to make it two wins out of two in the Youth League. But the three points didn't come at all easy, and it wasn't until the final minutes that they scored the two goals that clinched all three points from a very tough clash.
But it would be very hard to argue that the win wasn't fully deserved. Especially in the first half the Catalans had plenty of chances but were denied by narrow margins and sheer bad luck. Óscar López came close, while Bernal and Marc Guiu came even closer, with only the woodwork coming between their attempts and an opening goal.
We didn't see too much from Porto until the second half, when Cubarsí and Tiago Andrade both had especially strong chances.
There were just 10 minutes left when Dani Rodríguez set up Marc Guiu for an exquisite finish that finally had the blaugrana in the lead. Seven minutes later, a Porto corner ended with Ángel Alarcón on the end of a quick counter attack, and he crossed half the length of the pitch before slotting home the game-clincher.
The result leaves Barça as the outright leaders of the group with the maximum six points ahead of Shakhtar Donetsk's visit to the Estadi Johan Cruyff on October 25 at 2pm CEST. In the other game played today, the Ukrainians beat Royal Antwerp 2-1.
