Experience and security between the posts

Claudio Bravo joined FC Barcelona in the summer of 2014 from Real Sociedad, where he had spent the previous eight seasons. An experienced and highly reliable goalkeeper, he arrived with the huge challenge of replacing Víctor Valdés, who had guarded Barça’s nets for the previous decade. His first season could hardly have gone better, as the team won the treble: La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League.

During his two seasons at Barça, Bravo was primarily the goalkeeper for league matches, while Marc-André ter Stegen handled the Copa del Rey and Champions League fixtures. The system worked perfectly, with the team winning almost every major trophy available during that period. In total, Bravo made 75 appearances for Barça.

In 2016, he moved to Manchester City under former Barça coach Pep Guardiola, spending four seasons in England. He returned to Spanish football in 2020 to join Real Betis, where he played the final chapter of his professional career before retiring in 2024 at the age of 41.
