Barça Atlètic claimed a valuable 2-0 win away to Barbastro, grinding out three important points in a hard-fought contest. Belletti’s side had to work hard, but managed their lead well and took the victory back to Barcelona.
No clear control
The match began at a slow pace, with Barbastro well organised defensively, pressing without taking risks and making it difficult for Barça Atlètic to find their key players in dangerous positions. Early on, the visitors kept long spells of possession but created little.
As the half went on, Barça began to use the wings more, combining well with Toni Fernández and Juan. Even so, Barbastro grew into the game and created danger of their own, with efforts that forced Kochen into action to keep the scores level at half-time.
Reserves seal the win
After the break, Belletti introduced attacking tweaks that soon paid off. The changes brought more energy and control in midfield, and Barça’s opener arrived soon after. In the 61st minute, Dani Rodríguez put the visitors ahead with a left-footed strike that found the net.
Barça Atlètic then handled the home pressure with solid defending and good organisation in midfield. Kochen remained sharp, making key saves as Barbastro pushed for an equaliser. Barça also had chances to put the game to bed, but the second goal didn’t come until stoppage time.
In the 91st minute, a move in the box initiated by Sama Nomoko ended in a penalty. Álvaro Cortés converted confidently from the spot to secure the final 2-0.
