It wasn't to be as Barça Atlètic went down 3-2 away to Atlètic Lleida at the Camp d’Esports in this Segunda Federación matchday seven fixture. Víctor Barberà and Óscar Ureña scored the goals in this close contest, and despite the defeat, they remain Group 3 leaders on 15 points.

Lleida began with a high press in search of the ball and actually took the lead early after Moró Sidibe made the most of a mis-control by Alexis Olmedo to make it 1-0 at the Camp d’Esports (min 8). Barça Atlètic reacted quickly, Sama Nomoko got to the byeline twice to cross and both Ureña and Barberà went close.

Barberà gets equaliser

The Lleida pressure began to wane and Belletti's side started to take control, but the home side still had chances on the break. Emilio Bernad saved from Sule (min 31), which proved vital as Barberà equalised not long after (1-1, min 37). All square at halftime.

Achhiba makes his mark

The home side came out strongly after the break and halftime substitute Bilal Achhiba scored directly from a corner to put his side ahead after two minutes (2-1). The blaugranes had the chance to tie again just after through Nomoko and the game was now very open. All the same, Atlètic Lleida scored next, Moró Sidibe finishing a rebound in the area for his brace (3-1, min 51).

Ureña gets one back

It may have got tough, but the blaugranes rolled up their sleeves, with the goal by Ureña bringing them back to within one after an exquisite pass from Barberà (3-2, min 60). The comeback looked even likelier when the tireless Nomoko caused Joan Campins to be sent off (min 66).

Final push goes unrewarded

Belletti's side had one more player and attacked at will, with Shane Kluivert coming closest, hitting the post from a corner (min 84). Danger was coming from everywhere but Lleida defended well, holding out in the eight minutes of time added on, despite efforts by Ureña and Kluivert, to earn their first win of the season.

Next up, the blaugranes welcome Poblense from Mallorca to Estadi Johan Cruyff on 26 October for the matchday eight fixture (kickoff 12:00pm CET).
