Today brings a massive meeting between the Barça reserves Barça Atlètic and their Real Madrid equivalents Real Madrid Castilla as the two sides meet in a 'miniclásico' that will decide which of the two sides gets a shot at promotion to the second division proper next season. The first of the two legs kicks off at the Estadi Johan Cruyff at 9pm CEST.
The second leg in Madrid will be played next Sunday at 8pm CEST in the Alfredo Di Stéfano, Valdebebas. If the game ends in a draw on aggregate, Madrid would advance due to finishing higher in the regular season.
"In games like these you have to be effective and touch on perfection to get the right result" said Mexican manager Rafa Marquez.
His captain and goalkeeper, Arnau Tenas, added that “these games are decided in the areas. We have improved defensively and have learned from past errors. Castilla are a very strong opponent, but we have put together a spectacular group and we can take on any team."
Márquez is still missing the injured Arnau Rafús and Pelayo, However, he has regained Román Vega, who was away playing at the U20 World Cup for Argentina, but his side, the host nation, got knocked out by Nigeria. U19 players Aleix Garrido and Biel Vicens are also included, as is Lamine Yamal, who is back from playing at the U17 European Championship.
