Barça Atlètic didn't manage to break the deadlock in El Collao (0-0). The first away game in the Primera División RFEF saw Rafa Márquez' side earn another point - now four from the first two matches. With a desire to attack and control the game based on solid defence, only the goal was missing.
Barça Atlètic started brightly at El Collao with both Ilias Akhomach and Roberto threatening Bañuz' goal. A statement of intent that simply grew in the face of CD Alcoyano's sporadic threats. However, this matchday 2 game remained in the balance.
Barça Atlètic attempted to take the sting out of the game by keeping the ball but the game was somewhat stop-start due to a number of fouls, with both goals remaining intact at half time.
Barça stepped up the pace after the break with the very talented Ilias and Roberto creating an opportunity that the forward sent wide. This seemed to invigorate both sides, with Arnau Tenas having to prevent a certain goal, the only real chance that escaped the Barça defence all game.
Luismi Cruz made his debut for Barça Atlètic as they looked to conduct proceedings and get closer to that elusive goal. Juanda, Àlex Carbonell, and the infatigable Txus Alba all had their moments, but it proved insufficient to break the deadlock, final score 0-0.
