A goal scored by Ferran Jutglà, and an assist from the player to Peque, as well as some fabulous goalkeeping by Arnaus Tenas have not only earned Barça B a 2-0 win at San Fernando CD but has also lifted the team into the promotion zone.
Ferran Jutglà was outstanding at the Estadio Iberoamericano 2010 this afternoon. The game was just eight minutes old when he’d already made three big chances, while Arnau Tenas was just as brilliant in nets at the other end of the field, with one particularly sublime save as the home side took the direct approach while the Barça reserves played a more patient build-up based on their famous passing game.
But one style neutralised the other and as the game progressed chances became less frequent. San Fernando probably had the better of the chances, but with Arnau as inspired as he was today, the 0-0 scoreline held.
But this was the day for Ferran Jutglà. Following a providential piece of defending by Diounkou, he stormed up to the edge of the area and broke the deadlock with a tremendous shot, his 18th goal of the season to move further atop of the division’s scoring charts.
Jutglà was the man. To cap his wonderful day he provided a beautiful assist to Peque for the second goal that lifts the team up to fourth in the league. Promotion beckons, but there’s still work to be done.
