Regarding the technical incident while accessing the stadium ahead of the game against Alavés on Saturday 29 November, FC Barcelona informs that after a thorough systems audit process with the relevant companies SlashMobility, T-Systems and Devoteam over the weekend, the incident has been identified and fully resolved.

Incident context and causes

The incident occurred as the number of tickets transferred through the Socios App e-ticket platform has gradually increased. It is worth noting that this situation did not occur during any other previous games, such as against Athletic Club or during the two plus seasons at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, as the system was handling fewer tickets in total.

The gradual migration to the digital platform is part of the Club's strategy to fight ticket fraud and resales, with member safety and protection the priority.

Solutions implemented plus contingency system

Once the cause was identified, the configuration of the systems involved with handling tickets was optimised to ensure more efficient distribution during peak demand periods.

Albeit the incident has been resolved, the Club will continue to monitor and strengthen these processes with the support of outsourced companies specialising in technology security and fraud prevention.

As a one-off for the game today against Atlético Madrid, the decision has been taken to use two access systems in parallel – the Socios App with the QR code as normal, plus and a conventional PDF-based system as an additional contingency measure.

Protocol for Eintracht Frankfurt match

Based on prior events, there will be additional visual and identification controls during access, with the aim of ensuring the highest level of safety, and to ensure that fans who obtained their ticket illegally or via a resale system cannot gain entry.

FC Barcelona asks members and fans to be as understanding and committed as possible during this digitalisation process towards more secure platforms that will benefit all. Furthermore, the Club asks for any illegal or suspicious activities to be reported immediately – it is our shared responsibility.

Press conference

With the aim of providing a clear explanation and answering any queries, FC Barcelona has convened a press conference that will take place at 11.00am CET tomorrow at the Club's Commercial Office. FC Barcelona will be represented by general manger Manel del Río, operations director Joan Sentelles and technology director Miriam Ferrando, and there will also be representatives from SlashMobility, T-Systems and Devoteam Spain. They will outline the events, the thorough auditing process that was completed, and the measures put in place to ensure it does not reoccur.
