FC Barcelona activates 'Visiting Supporters Security and Control Protocol' for Napoli fixture

Visiting fans told not to head to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys hoping to find tickets and reminds them that they will not be admitted into any areas other than those designated for away fans

For the Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Napoli at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, March 12 (9.00pm), strict security and ticket control measures are being put into operation as established by the club for matches classed as high risk, especially in terms of ticket sales and the presence at the stadium of visiting supporters. The goal is to guarantee the utmost safety for all people attending the game.

An appeal is therefore being made to all the fans of the visiting team, Italian club Napoli, who do not have a ticket, not to go to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, because they will not be able to purchase tickets anywhere around the ground. Only those Napoli supporters who have a ticket distributed by their club and for the area reserved for visiting fans will be able to attend the match.

The measures that have been established for this high-risk fixture are the following:

  • Tickets bear the holder's name.
  • Given that the game has been declared 'high-risk' by the Anti-Violence Commission, opposing fans cannot be present in areas for home fans.
  • Tickets sales to IP addresses of the country of the opposing team and credit cards have been blocked.
  • Announcement on the website during the sale period that tickets are intended for sale to FC Barcelona fans only.
  • Prohibition of wearing clothing or accessories identified with the visiting club anywhere other than in the area reserved for opposing fans.
  • Fans must have the required documents at hand (ticket and passport or ID document) to be shown if requested.
  • Enable access 10 and 11, used by visiting fans.
  • No tickets to be sold at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys ticket booths.
  • Tour operators cannot sell tickets to fans of the visiting team either.

Recommendations for club members and fans

The club has a series of instructions to ease the flow in and out of the stadium and in the environs of Montjuïc. These include those that are already familiar for games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys such as the need to get there early. The stadium gates will open a full hour and a half before kick-off and access in private vehicles to the area around the stadium will be restricted. Four-wheeled motor vehicles will not be able enter the area unless they have an official pass. The traffic police will withdraw any improperly parked vehicles. Up to 3,500 motorcycles can park in the area around the stadium. Motorbikes must enter the zone via Avinguda Miramar, turning left when they reach Doctor Font i Quer.

Fans are advised to get to the stadium on foot or on public transport. There will be a free shuttle service, as well as the metro and the funicular train. Fans are advised to leave private vehicles as far away from the stadium as possible, to print a hard copy of their tickets and to use the correct gates into the ground. Also, please note that there are no locker facilities to leave items.

If the game ends later than expected, please note that the metro will only be operative until midnight. However, the shuttle buses from the Estadi Olímpic will be running as normal.
