The second India Cup a great success

The second India Cup a great success

Girls and boys from the four Barça Academies took part at the facilities in Delhi

More than 420 girls and boys in 44 teams enjoyed a whole weekend of football and Barça in Delhi last Saturday and Sunday. Players from the Barça Academies in Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai and their families came together for two days of football using the Barça methodology.

The India Cup was held for the first time in 2020 but subsequently the Covid pandemic prevented a repeat of the tournament until this year. The teams were divided into age groups and in the boys' draw there were eight teams at U10, U12 and U14 level with four teams for U17s. The girls' tournament saw four U12 teams and four U15 teams take part.

Thoughts turn to a third edition

The event was organised by Conscient Sports, the long standing Club partner in India who assist in the running of the four Barça Academies in India. The second edition of the India Cup was a great success and work has already to know which one of the four Barça Academies in India will host the organisation of next year's edition in January 2025.
