Twenty-one Barça Legends travelling to Liverpool for game postponed due to the pandemic
The match will be played on Saturday 26 March at Anfield and will be live on Barça TV and Barça TV+
Barça Legends manager Albert Ferrer has announced his squad of 21 players for the game on Saturday 26 March against the Liverpool FC Legends. The clash of European giants is taking place at Anfield Road at 3pm local time, 4pm CET (live on BarçaTV and BarçaTV+), two years later than originally scheduled after the pandemic caused the suspension of the encounter. Proceeds from the gamer will go to the Barça Foundation and LFC Foundation.
The Barça Legends are taking a strong side to a game that will be played on such an attractive stage, one of the most iconic venues in European football where there is always a very unique atmosphere. Hence Albert Ferrer will be taking Angoy, Guzmán, Juan Pablo Sorín, Dehú, Roger García, Amor, Soler, Belletti, Mendieta, Edmilson, Trashorras, Giovanni, Luis García, Javier Saviola, Giuly, Edgar Davids, Francesco Coco, Oriol Riera, Dani Tortolero, Juan Carlos and Jofre.
Liverpool FC, with a dazzling managerial team of Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, John Aldridge and John Barnes, will be lining up with goalkeepers Jerzy Dudek and Sander Westerveld, defenders Fabio Aurelio, Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger, Jose Enrique, Sami Hyypiä, Jason McAteer, Bjorn-Tore Kvarme and Phil Babb; midfielders Glen Johnson, Steve McManaman, Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer and Salif Diao; and a forward line of Dirk Kuyt, Stewart Downing, Luis García, Maxi Rodríguez and Milan Baros.
This will be third game played by the Barça Legends since Covid-19 put a stop to such activities. Last summer they were in Tel Aviv (Israel) for a veterans Clásico against Real Madrid and in January they contested the Trofeu Costa Brava against the Llegendes del Girona FC in a game that served as fund-raider for ALS and a testimonial to Juan Carlos Unzué.
