Marta Torrejón featured in ‘Born to play’ series

Young Barça Women defender Marta Torrejón is the star of the third episode of the documentary series ‘Dare to Play’, which premieres today on Barça TV+, the club’s streaming service. 

Produced by Barça Studios, the series offers a personal portrait of the Barça Women players: their origins, how they came to the club, their families and their experiences in the world of football, as well as their hobbies and ambitions. 

The documentary combines an open chat with the player, born in Mataró (Catalonia), with images and videos from her childhood and career both on and off the field, as well as interviews with her family and friends, who reveal how she has and has not changed both as a person and as a professional footballer.

Torrejón looks back, among other anecdotes, at how she became interested in football from an early age and once opened a Christmas present that was a ball, but it turned out that it was not for her … And that made her furious! She also recalls her beginnings, first in a mixed team at school, although she was the only girl, then her time at Espanyol where she was in a boys team before she could play in an all-girls team, and finally her arrival at Barça. The player and her nearest and dearest also talk about some of the highlights of her career, like the final of the first Spanish Women’s SuperCup against Real Sociedad, where she scored four goals.

This third instalment of the series follows on from previous ones about Jennifer Hermoso and Mapi Leon and will be available on-demand in Catalan, Spanish and English on Barça TV+ and will be out very soon on the linear Barça TV channel, on DTT in Catalonia and on subscription platforms elsewhere in Spain. 

‘Dare to Play’, an ORIGINALS series 

The documentary series about the Barça Women players is part of the ORIGINALS section of Barça TV +, which FC Barcelona launched on 3 June.

The platform is available worldwide on the club website and app for all devices (PC, tablet, cell phone and TV via cast technology) in three languages (Catalan, Spanish and English). Users will find more than 1,000 hours of content and more than 3,000 hours of 100% Barça videos, which can also be enjoyed on demand.
