A draw to end the Colombian tour

Barça Legends bring to an end their stay in South American with a 1-1 draw against a Colombian Legends team

All square. Barça Legends rounded off their tour of Colombia with a 1-1 draw against a Colombian Legends side in Bogotá. The team created in 2016 and coached by Albert 'Chapi' Ferrer therefore end their South American trip with a draw and a victory in their two matches following on from the 4-0 win in Cali earlier in the week.

The game in the Colombian capital saw coach Ferrer put out the following starting XI: Angoy, Belletti, Puyol, Dehú, Sergi Barjuan, Edmílson, Trashorras, Giovanni Silva, Sorín, Saviola and Rivaldo. The blaugranes had the better of the early exchanges but the Colombian Legends team came back at Barça with the legendary keeper Rene Higuita going close with a typically daring free kick. Hristo Stoichkov went close to opening the scoring before the break in am entertaining first half.

Barça strike first

After the break, Ferrer lined up an XI formed by Vítor Baía, Belletti, Puyol, Sorín, Nadal, Sergi Barjuan, Goikoetxea, Trashorras, Sánchez Jara, Rivaldo and Stoichkov. Unlike the first half, it was the Colombian side who started the stronger. Nevertheless, it was Barça who went ahead when in the 74th minute, Javier Saviola latched on to a pass from Stoichkov to give the blaugranes the lead.

Just as Barça appeared to be heading for their second win of the tour, a goal from Giovanni Hernández levelled things up. There was still time for Giovanni Silva and then Miguel Àngel Nadal to go close to snatching the win for Ferrer's team but in the end the teams shared the spoils as the tour of Colombia came to a successful end.
