As was agreed in the referendum, it is expected that the construction of Espai Barça will be completed in 2021. The works on the New Camp Nou and the New Palau Blaugrana will start in the 2017/18 season, and the new pavilion will be finished in the 2018/19.
To guarantee the completion of Espai Barça does not limit the resources of the Club, the process of selecting a consultant for the sale of the stadium’s name has begun. This was approved in the referendum, and meetings with various organisations and investment groups have been held.
After a wide market research, with the collaboration of expert international consultants of the level of ISG and AEG, the value of the sponsorship has been defined (‘title rights’ of Camp Nou and ‘naming rights’ of new Espai Barça) and a business plan has been set out which will help increase the club’s annual EBITDA by 30 per cent, which equates to approximately 40 million euros.
Furthermore, to guarantee the independence and the objectivity of all contracts, a specific recruitment procedure has been designed with the collaboration of the international consulting firm Ernst & Young, which will impact various areas of the project.
