Shooting guard
Michael Caicedo, born on 21 June 2003 in the town of Inca in Mallorca, began his career with la Roca del Vallès and then CB Granollers before joining FC Barcelona. After moving through the youth teams, for the 2020/21 season he joined the Barça B squad playing in the LEB Plata as well as occasionally training with the first team squad.
In January 2021 he made his debut for the first team in a league against Manresa, becoming the fifth youngest player every to play for the basketball team. The following season he made his debut in the Euroleague in a game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
To gain more experience in January 2023 he moved on loan to Granada.
In 2019 Caidcedo represented Spain in the European U16 Championships, helping the side to victory in the tournament with 21 points in the final against France. In 2022 he was part of the U20 squad that won the Eurobasket tournament in Montenegro.
A shooting guard almost 2m tall, Caicedo is quick and agile and contributes in attack and defence.
