No way back. Barça lost the Liga Clásico to Real Madrid by a 19-point margin (76–95) in a game that slipped away in the second quarter. The culers edged the first period, but the visitors took control and never looked back, with the Catalans rarely looking like they were ever going to mount a comeback.

Yet things had started so very differently. In a high-intensity opening period, it was an even exchange. Mario Hezonja struck first, but Barça responded collectively, with Jan Veselý and Will Clyburn leading the way to a narrow 18–15 lead after the opening quarter, backed by a lively Palau.

Madrid pulled away in the second quarter, and a run of ten uncontested points to make it (18–25) put a worrying amount of daylight between the teams. Kevin Punter tried to lead the response, but Barça’s shooting dried up. A three from Sergio Llull stretched the gap (22–37), and further triples from Hezonja and Facundo Campazzo left Barça with a mountain to climb at halftime.

No way back

There was no way back after the break. Barça showed brief signs of life early in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 41–56 with improved defensive intensity and quicker ball movement, but every push was met with an immediate response from Madrid. The visitors controlled the tempo, punished turnovers, and kept finding openings from the perimeter. A further 0–8 run effectively killed the contest before the final quarter had even commenced.

The pattern held to the end. Barça continued to battle, trying to chip away at the deficit through individual efforts and a more aggressive approach on offense, but the gap remained too large. Madrid stayed composed, managed possession well, and avoided any lapse that might have opened the door.

In the end, the final minutes were about limiting the damage, with Barça unable to do more than slightly reduce the margin in a tough 76–95 defeat.
