Barça 80-81 Joventut Badalona: Narrow defeat in Catalan League

The blaugranes go down to defeat in the last game of the group stage in the Catalan League

Barça went down to defeat in the Palau d'Esports de Catalunya de Tarragona by 81 to 80 against Joventut in the final game of the group stage of the Catalan League, knocking them out of the competition. Not even 14 points from Satoransky could save Joan Peñarroya's team. 

Tough start 

The blaugranes got off to a difficult start in the game and two free three from former blaugrana Ricky Rubio gave Joventut a 17-9 lead which became a 21-17 advantage at the end of the first quarter. 

Kevin Puinter led a fightback in the second quarter and took Barça into a 29-22 lead. However, Joventut came back to lead by one at half time at 38-37.

The second half saw both teams take the lead in a see saw contest. Barça looked set for the win at 69-65 but against Joventut recovered and when Clyburn later effort bounced out, the team from Badalona took a 81-80 win.
