Joan Peñarroya's team picked up an impressive 98-94 overtime win at Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade with Kevin Punter starring thanks to 26 points to take his team to their third victory of the season in four matches in the Euroleague.
Great blaugrana start
The blaugranes knew that this would be one of their most difficult games away from home and so Peñarroya's team began on the front foot, taking the lead early in the first quarter. However, the Serbians fought back to take a 26-25 lead by the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter Crvena Zvezda took the lead at 39-33, but Barça came back to level things up, before the home side surged ahead before the break to take a 47-44 lead at half time.
The second half started in great fashion for the visitors with Parker and Laprovittola scoring three pointers to put Barça 54-49 ahead. More three pointers were exchanged before Brizuela's entrance led the blaugranes to a 66-63 lead.
Overtime in Serbia
The fourth quarter saw the game see-saw between the two sides and when Kevin Punter landed a three pointer to put Barça 84-82 ahead, it seemed that the contest was over. However, the Serbians came back to level things up and take the game into overtime. Former Partizan Belgrade man Punter took control for Barça, nailing a vital three pointer to make it 96-93 to help close out a 98-94 in Belgrade.
