Barça played the perfect semi-final on Saturday in Malaga against Tenerife and will be playing Real Madrid for the trophy on Sunday, with two Copa del Rey records set in a simply stunning second period.
It was full speed all the way, with a 7-0 streak including five from Jabari Parker setting things up for a spectacular continuation. Barça simplñy could not stop scoring and breezed into a confident 35-20 lead. Tenerife called a TO to no avail for Barça followed that with a simply extraordinary four 3-pointers in a row to go 47-21, and still hadn't finished what would be the highest ever winning margin for a single period in the history of the competition, a quite remarkable 40-8, while also setting a new record for the total points in a period.
It all meant that the second half was little more than a formality. The third period didn't see much of a change in the points difference and ended 78-48, with an inspired Willy taking eight points, and in the final ten minutes Roger Grimau was able to rotate the players with tomorrow's final in mind, with important minutes for Àlex Abrines, who still needs to get back into his rhythm following injury.
