Barça 104–70 Real Betis: Plugged into the league

Fifth win in a row in the domestic championship

Barça picked up a comfortable win on Saturday night against Real Betis Baloncesto in a game where everything went right for them and wrong for their opponents, a side that couldn't get things to click at all in offence. 12-3 after five straight wins, the Catalans are in a very good place indeed.

No fewer than seven players scored double figures, Higgins (16), Nnaji (16), Mirotic (14), Vesely (13), Jokubaitis (13), Da Silva (11) and Kuric (10) in a game that started tight enough but by the end of the first period there was already a sizeable gape merging between the sides.

Hitting 5/8 in threes, Barça slowly extended on their lead in the second period, with some showboating slam-dunks from James Nnaji to keep the fans amused.

As Betis looked less and less likely to have a say in the proceedings, the game became a formality after the interval. Jan Vesely was the standout performer of the second act, with the Palau roaring in every point on this holiday weekend in Spain. The biggest interest was in seeing whether Barça could break the 100 mark, something that was greeted with a huge cheer qwhen it happened

Next up is a EuroLeague visit to Asvel Villeurbanne on Wednesday at 8pm CET.
