Barça 89–74 Cazoo Baskonia: Sensational comeback

Blaugrana come back from 12 points behind to claim their first win in the Liga Endesa

In their first league game of the league season at Palau Blaugrana, Barça truly had to sweat after trailing 39-51 at the interval. A brilliant second half saw them mount a comeback to remember.

Jokubaitis, with 11 points and four assists, and Jan Veseley, with 15 points and five rebounds, were the standout performers.

Baskonia lapped up early Barça errors to end the first period with a six-point lead, and although Da Silva and Kuric helped close that gap, it wasn't long before the Vitorians, and especially the impressive Darius Thompson, were back on the rampage.

The key to the switch in the home side's fortunes was Àlex Abrines. The Mallorcan claimed 9 consecutive points to push his team back level in just six minutes. Extraordinarily, by the end of an incredible third period, Barça were seven points ahead!

Sarunas Jasikevicius' side showed all their character to make sure the visitors failed to react. Solid defence, and continued force in offence, ensured they went on to win by fifteen points. Who'd have thought that at the break?
