Barça 79–87 Valencia Basket: Unbeaten record comes to an end in the league

First reverse of the season for Saras Jasikevicius' team in the ACB as their opponents mount second half comeback

The unbeaten run comes to an end. Barça went down to defeat against Valencia Basket in the Palau Blaugrana and a record 10th consecutive win in the league escaped their grasp.

Strong start from Valencia

The visitors began the contest in impressive fashion and soon three three pointers in a row took them to a 17-12 lead in the Palau. Nevertheless, Barça reacted and Mirotic led a fightback that saw the home side end the first quarter 21-19 ahead. Saras' side were able to hang on to their lead at half time with the sides going into the break at 38-35.

In the second half both side exchanged three pointers as neither could gain a significant advantage with the scoreboard reading 63-63 at the end of the third quarter.

The final quarter of the contest saw Valencia take control of the game with Dubljevic's two consecutive three pointers the nail in the coffin as Barça lost for the first time in the Palau since April.
