Barça went in search of victory from the first minute, and this was reflected on the scoreboard. A good initial 5-0 run put the Catalans ahead, an advantage they would hold onto throughout the match. Mirotic, as ever, was superb from the three-point line, and he helped ensure that Barça ended the first period with a convincing 24-12 lead.
In the second quarter, the hosts didn't allow Gran Canaria any space or time on the court, Barça's intensity impossible for the visitors to manage.
Eight triples throughout the first half saw the Catalans go into the break 53-30 up, but showing no signs of resting on their laurels. Davies and Hanga were the most outstanding players in attack for Barça in the third quarter, which ended 71-43 as the hosts continued to turn the screw.
With the game already over as a contest, the last quarter followed the same tone as the rest of the match with Barça continuing to dominate all facets. At the final whistle, a comprehensive 91-63 result was no more than they deserved.
