Barça Lassa 68-74 Real Madrid: The league escapes

Svetislav Pesic's team lost the fourth game in the final meaning that Los Blancos are proclaimed league champions

It wasn't to be. Barça Lassa fought until the last minute, but Svetislav Pesic's men weren't able to get the result they needed to tie the final in the fourth game of the series. In an equal match, Real Madrid just edged it 68-74, meaning that Barça's quest for the league title is over.

Los Blancos were more successful than Barça Lassa in the early stages, especially from the triple line (8-19, min 6). The hosts, however, reacted and, with the help of Pangos, got to within three points by the end of the first period (21-24).

In the second period the two teams upped the tempo with the Catalans staying in touch throughout, before heading into the half-time break at 33-37 behind.

Equality at all times

A triple from Pangos brought Barça even closer (45-47, min 25), but in the closing stages of the third period Real Madrid regained the advantage (47-55). Pesic's men never gave up at any time, but the score stayed at 55-64 for almost five minutes, allowing the visitors a real chance of victory.

In spite of Barça's consistency, they couldn't get ahead on the scoreboard, and Real Madrid were proclaimed league champions with a 68-74 win.
