Extraordinary Assembly of FC Barcelona Delegate Members on December 18

Meeting on day of home fixture against Espanyol to discuss Rakuten sponsorship deal, proposal regarding Liability Action and new large-scale project with the Mission Hills Group in China

The FC Barcelona board met in an ordinary session at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, and this is a summary of the matters covered:

The club began, as it already did on social networks, by expressing its solidarity with the victims of the air tragedy suffered by the Chapecoense club from Brazil travelling to Medellin in Colombia for the Copa Sudamericana final.

The club also congratulated everyone on the 117th anniversary of FC Barcerlona, which coincided with the date of the meeting.

Extraordinary Assembly of Delegate Members

The board has called an extraordinary meeting of club members on Sunday 18 December before the game against RCD Espanyol. It will commence at 4.00pm CET for the first session and 4.30pm CET for the second in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.

The meeting will cover the with the Rakuten sponsorship deal, the proposal in relation to the current Liability Action and the agreement with the Mission Hills Group in China.

Mission Hills Group

The board passed the agreement with the Mission Hills Group in China, which has extensive experience of running sporting events in the country, to develop a large-scale FCBEscola and a Barça experience in the city of Haikou.

It will be located on the same future island site of the Chinese Football Federation and will be one of the most important football-themed tourist attractions in Asia, while helping to boost the club’s name in such an important target market as China.

The 10-year agreement, with the option of a 10-year extension on top, will need to be ratified at the Extraordinary Assembly.

New tribute to Johan Cruyff

In agreement with the family of the late Dutch star and Barça legend, the club is to organise a special tribute to his memory. The two parties have been working hard to decide on the best way to do this.

Wembley anniversary

The board has been working on different ideas to commemorate the first ever European Cup won a quarter of century ago on 20 May 2017, an event that meant so much for the birth of the world-leading club as we know it today.

The first part of the process has been the shirt design for the current season, which reflects the one worn in the 1991/92 season.

Further actions are as follows:

Throughout the week of 20 May 2017, will feature Wembley Week in the Auditori 1899 with debates and lectures involving important club figures and especially those that were involved in that historic campaign.

Barça TV will broadcast a special documentary about the win at Wembley.

A Wembley Space will be set up in the Museum, with photos and other souvenirs from the occasion.

A special section of the club website will be available for fans to send their memories of the famous final.

The 2017 membership card will be designed to honour the Wembley 92 shirt.

The event will end with a closing ceremony at the Camp Nou, the hope being for the Dream Team members to polay an XI of players from that period.

Season ticket waiting list

A new system will be established for supporters that have been registered on the Camp Nou waiting list for over three years. 1,000 ‘waiting list season tickets’ will be allocated, with preferential treatment for members that have been waiting the longest.

New Seient Lliure payment system

A new system has been implanted for season ticket holders that release their tickets back to the club. From the second half of the league season, members that release their tickets up to 72 hours before the game are guaranteed reimbursement of the cost, unlike the present system whereby they are only paid of the seat is actually sold.

FCBEscola in Montreal

The board approved the new soccer school in Montreal, the 26th in the world and fifth in Canada after Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto (more than any other country).
