FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu took part in the meeting of the executive committee of the ECA that the European Club Association hosted at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday, the stadium of the French club Lyon.
The meeting was so that the representatives of the ECA that are also part of the Club Competitions Committee of UEFA, which includes the Barça president, could inform the other members of the executive committee of the association about what was discussed at last Monday’s meeting in Nyom. These agreements primarily affect the new format of the club competitions for the period 2018/2021.
The meeting also addressed other matters such as cooperation projects between the ECA and Fifpro, the global players union, and relations with other bodies of international football such as FIFA.
This was the third meeting of the season and the last of the year of the executive committee. The next meeting will take place on 30 January 2017 in Munich. Josep Maria Bartomeu has been part of the Executive Committee of the ECA since May 2014.
