Jícha was a key figure for THW Kiel during either successful seasons and is a born winner on the handball court

Filip Jícha began his handball career in his native Pilsen, in the Czech Republic, in 1988 at Stary Plzenec. In 1995 he joined Slavia Pilsen before signing for Dukla Prague in the year 2000. His first club outside his home country was Otmar St.Gallen of Switzerlan whom he joined in 2003 prior to his spell with German Bundesleague club TBV Lemgo. After two years in Germany, in 2007 he moved to THW Kiel where he won the Champions League twice as captain, being named best player in the world in 2010. 

On 18 August 2015 he brought his eight year spell with the German club to an end by signing for FC Barcelona Lassa. 

Jícha has won the Champions League twice, the German league on seven occasion as well as five German Cups, five German Super Cups and a Superglobe, all with THW Kiel. With Lemgo he also claimed the EHF Cup in 2006. 

On an individual level, he was chosen as the best player in the world in 2010 and was top scorer and named best player at the European Championships in 2010. 

Jícha is a Czech Republic international with more than 150 games under his belt.

As his career honours clearly demonstrate, Filip Jícha is a born winner and a born leader. His natural position is left back where his power and fierce shot are his principal weapons. All this is added to his ability to finish that has led him to be one of the best attacking players in Europe.
