Jonathan dos Santos signed, this Thursday, the renewal of his contract that links him to FC Barcelona until 2015. The event was attended by, apart from Dos Santos, President Sandro Rosell, Vice President Josep Maria Bartomeu, Director Jordi Mestre, the Sports Director Andoni Zubizarreta, and Director of Football Raul Sanllehí.

Speaking to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat, Dos Santos recalled how he had to strive to get where he is, "I have gone through all the categories, I fought hard, I had some difficult years ... I was ready to leave the Club, not everything always goes well. I am a born fighter, and I never wanted to leave here. I'm very happy."

Thanks for the educations he's received

On a special day for him, the midfielder, 21, had words of thanks for the Club: "In the ten years I've been here I've always been treated very well. I've grown as a person and as a player. I'm happy that the boss, Pep, the coaches, and the Directors, have had faith in me, and now I hope to carry on working like I always have".

In this regard, he remembered various conversations with the manager about his options: "I've talked to him many times, and I know there are lots of players in the midfield. I'll keep working every day and I know my chance will come. I hope to make the most of it."

One of the 'leaders' of the B Team

Jonathan dos Santos is one of the key players in the Barça B team. He recognises that he feels important to Eusebio Sacristan: "The boss is giving me a lot of confidence. I knew it was a stage in my life where I had to make the leap. I have to be 'the leader' of the team as I've been with the B team for three years, and I'm one of the most experienced players".
