Following on from Monday’s medical examinations, two training sessions – at 9am and 7 pm – have been scheduled for Tuesday at the Joan Gamper sports facilities. For new manager Tito Vilanova it was his first day in charge.

Villa, Fontàs and Alves join team-mates

Without a doubt, the biggest news of the day was the sight of Villa and Fontàs being put through their paces alongside the rest of their team-mates for the first time since their respective operations in December and January.

Dani Alves, who fractured his right collar bone just before the Spanish Cup Final, also returned to training. Both Fontàs and Alves were supervised by Club medical staff. Meanwhile, Isaac Cuenca worked out in the gym and Thiago Alcántara continued with his recovery process.

8 from the reserves

Eight players from Barça B have been called up to train alongside the senior players for this week. They are Oier, Sergi Gómez, Planas, Sergi Roberto, Ilie, Rafinha, Kiko Femenía and Lobato.

The players will return to training this evening at 7 pm, also at the Joan Gamper training grounds.
