VÍCTOR SALGADO - FCB

FC Barcelona Lassa have won the OK Liga for the 27th time, and the third in a row, after today’s draw with Club Patí Vic at the Palau Blaugrana.  That was followed by the news that Liceo had lost in Igualada, a combination of results that means that Ricard Muñoz get to lift the trophy.

It was a gripping match, with Barça falling three goals behind but fighting their way back to earn a 4-4 draw. Burgaya got Vic off to an early lead, and then a Bancells free made it two, with Barroso having a goal disallowed for FCB. And just before the break, Bancells converted a penalty to make it 3-0 to the visitors. It was all going wrong.

Panadero finally got Barça Lassa off the mark with a penalty of his own and then assisted Gual to make it 2-3, before Ferran Font put Vic back to two goals up. But as the minutes were running out, back-to-back goals from Lucas Ordoñez made it 4-4 and the celebrations started as news came through that second place Liceo were beaten.

The legend continues

In a wonderful season, the roller hockey team have also won the Copa Continental, Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey – and still have the trip to Lisbon for the European title to come in 15 days.

The run-in to the title was splendid, with Barça Lassa putting together a 21-match unbeaten streak, including 14 wins a in a row.

For living legend Aitor Egurrola that’s now a staggering sixteen OK Liga conquests, and it’s eleven for his team-mate Sergi Panadero, the same number of titles won by coach Ricard Muñoz.

With three games still left to play, Pablo Álvarez leads Barça’s scoring this term with 36 goals, followed by Lucas Ordoñez (31), Matías Pascual (18), Marc Gual (18) and Sergi Panadero (18).
