Jallouz shooting during the game / VICTOR SALGADO

The FC Barcelona Lass handball team just cannot stop winning. Their latest victims were BM Aragón, the team who were bottom of the Asobal League coming into the match. Xavi Pascual’s side gave the visitors to the Palau no chance and recorded their 78th consecutive win in domestic competition. Aleix Gómez was the star of the show with nine goals.

Dominance from start to finish

Barça started in a hurry and after just five minutes the home side were already 4-1 up in the match. That advantage grew as the half went on with the lead 13-3 on the quarter of an hour mark. Jallouz and Sigurdsson weighed in offensively and Jicha made a welcome return after 10 weeks out due to injury. At half time the lead was a healthy 20-9.

In the second half Barça’s defensive solidity and power on the counter with Aitor Ariño and Aleix Gómez, 13 goals between them, allowed Pascual’s team to move further ahead. The clash ended with the biggest margin of the night, 40-19 and now the blaugranes await the visit of Montpellier in the 11th game of this season’s Champions League.
