Another win for the Barça Lassa handball team, their 71st in a row in the Asobal League which came thanks to an impressive defensive performance from the blaugranes. The Catalans’ victory over Balonmano Benidorm away from home leaves them in first place in the table, as of yet unbeaten this season in domestic competition. Barça’s solidity gave them a 16-5 lead at half time and going forward they were lethal on the counter attack. The home side had serious problems offensively in the opening half due to their own inefficiencies and the prowess of Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas in goal for Barça. Sigurdsson and Lazarov were the top scorers in the half for the blaugranes with five each.

Rotations in the second half

In the second half Barça boss Xavi Pascual decided to make changes as the visitors looked to maintain their advantage. Fredrik Ohlander came back in between the posts, Aleix Gómez came on and scored three quick goals that took the score to 31-14. Defender Oriol Rey also came on and scored his first ever goal in the Asobal League to make it 32-15. The game ended with a 37-16 win for Barça Lassa who know turn their attentions to Europe and the game against Vardar.
