FC Barcelona have now amassed an incredible sixty consecutive wins in the ASOBAL after beating fellow Catalans Granollers in the penultimate game of the season. But this was not an easy win, and as the lead switched hands on several occasions in the first hand, neither side managed to go more than two goals in front until a Juan Del Arco goal after 26 minutes finally put the home side 16-13.

The half ended 18-15 and the gap was extended to four in the first minute after the restart. But Barça powered back with four in a row to pull level on 19-19, and from then went on to slowly establish the first +3 lead of their own at 23-26 in the 42nd minute, which Gurbindo and Víctor Tomás then extended to 23-28.

Barça had finally made their break and remained tight for the rest of the game, giving Granollers no chance of mounting a comeback. That’s twenty-nine wins in the league this season, and one more against Leon would make for a perfect thirty!
