FC Barcelona won 36-27 to beat the defending champions SG Flensburg-Handewitt for the second time in a week. After Kolding were held to a draw by Wisła Płock, the Catalans go to the top of the table with four games to play, and have already sealed a place in the next round.

The first half saw the Germans on top, moving as many as four goals ahead at 9-13 before Barça gained some ground to make it 14-16 at the break.

Barça needed to react and started the second half with three unanswered goals to move back in front. The brilliant defending continued, with Barça only conceding 11 goals in the second 30 minutes to eventually win by seven points (29-22). Goalkeeper Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas was outstanding, while Noddesbo, Karabatic, Lazarov and Sigurdsson are all worthy of a mention too. All in all, a stunning performance that had the Palau Blaugrana on its feet.
