Seven out of seven for Barça Intersport, who have won all of their matches in the Liga so far this season. This Tuesday’s match was considered to be one of the most difficult games of the season at the Palau Blaugrana, but Xavi Pascual’s men were able to overcome a team that had won all of its games on the road.

The wall that is Sterbik

Barça Intersport dominated from the start. Saves from Sterbik allwed Barça to jump to a quick 5-1 lead after only 9 minutes. The keeper, who maintained a 60% save rate in the opening 20 minutes of the match, was the most important player for a Barça Intersport that couldn’t field an injured Jernemyr or Stranovsky. At the other end of the court, the pace with which Barça counterattacked and Sarmiento’s accuracy allowed Barça to go to the break with a nine-goal advantage.

Barça kills the game off on the counter

The Blaugrana built on the lead they established in the first half. With Saric in goal, Tomás, Noddesbo and Viran Morros demolished Ciudad Encantada on the counter. Aguirrezabalaga, who missed the first half, netted six goals in the second. In the end, Xavi Pascual’s men secured their seventh consecutive victory in the Asobal (38-24).
