FC Barcelona were unable to hold onto top spot in the league on their trip to face the side that replaces them, Inter Movistar.

Wilde and Lozano both had early chances to take the lead in this top-of-the-table clash, but it was Inter Movistar who struck first through Cardinal after 6 minutes, shortly after Ari Santos had been ordered off. His free-kick was the only goal of an otherwise entertaining first half.

Wilde equalised two minutes after the restart, and three minutes later Barça went ahead when Dyego finished off a wonderful combination move.

But the joy was short-lived. On 27 minutes, Rivillos got Inter back level with a quickly taken free-kick, and on the half hour, Pola put the home side back in front. A minute later Cardinal supplied the assist for Pola to get his second and Inter’s fourth to make it 4-2.

Barça battled hard to salvage something but to no avail, and as the tournament goes into its winter break, It’s Inter Movistar who will be spending the New Year as leaders.
