With an 11-1-1 record, Barça held onto second place in the table thanks to a confident victory in Navarra.

There was an electric atmosphere at the Ciutat de Tudela, but it didn’t intimidate the Catalans, who went ahead after just three minutes thanks to an outstanding Lozano. The same player got the second, dribbling the ball from midfield to slot home his 19th goal of the season, putting him top of the league goalscoring charts.

It was after the break that Barça really started throwing their full arsenal at their hosts. Brazilian Ari Santos got the third, his first since returning from injury, and after 31 minutes, Ferrao made it 4-0 with a fine display of individual skill. Five minutes later, the job was finished off by Aicardo with goal number five.

The game ended with young reserve keeper Joan Miñano being sent on for his official debut, a fine way of thanking him for the effort he made to come to Tudela following a last moment call-up and just one day after he’d been involved in the B team’s 6-1 win at Zamora.
