A player who can play point guard or shooting guard, he stands out for his point scoring abilities and his work in defence

Pau Ribas arrived at Barça for the start of the 2015/16 season. He was born in Badalona on 2 March 1987 and the FC Barcelona player comes from a big basketballing family, given that his father, Jordi Ribas, was also a professional player with Club Joventut Badalona.

The blaugrana shooting guard came up through the youth ranks at Joventut, also making appearances for CB Prat between 2005 and 2007. In 2006 he won the FIBA Eurocup with ‘La Penya’ and in 2007/2008 he made the step up to the first team.

In the season 2007/08 Ribas enjoyed one of his best seasons in terms of silverware. The guard won the Catalan League, the Copa del Rey and the Copa ULEB. The next season he became captain of Joventut before leaving just a year later to join Caja Laboral.

In his season at Baskonia, Ribas won the ACB League, beating FC Barcelona 3-0 in the final. After two trophyless seasons in Vitoria, the Catalan moved to Valencia where he played until the summer of 2015.

Technical profile

Pau Ribas is a shooting guard, 1.96m tall with the ability to play point guard as well. The shooting guard is an excellent defender on the perimeter, an excellent shooter from the outside as well as his statistics show. In more than 10 years in the ACB he has an average of over 40% in three pointers and over 50% from the field.
